Major career transitions are exciting, anxiety provoking and sometimes perilous. Studies have found that more than 40 to 50 percent of senior outside hires fail to achieve desired results. The Successful Transition helps increase the probability of success for these managers by providing them with one-on-one coaching in the following critical areas.

The Successful Transition Process:

Our approach is based on over ten years of coaching experience. It is intended to give the manager a powerful advantage in navigating the initial first few months in a new position.

  1. Diagnostics surveys are used to provide the manager with an up-to-date understanding of his management and communication style

  2. Interviews are conducted with key stakeholders to identify expectations, cultural considerations and potential derailers. This information is synthesized in a report and reviewed with the new manager.

  3. The new manager receives coaching for a period of 6 months. The coaching is generally a combination of face-to-face sessions, shadowing, and telephone consultations.

  4. A diagnostic (360) survey is administered to key stakeholders, at the end of six-months, to evaluate the success of the new manager's transition.

The Successful TransitionComprehensive Manual:

Individuals coached in this process receive a 36-page manual with exercises and readings designed to accelerate the manager's successful transition into the new position.

Special Feature:

New Manager Acclimation Meeting - M. J. Campbell Associates facilitates a meeting between the new manager and his or her team. This meeting involves a structured process designed to discuss expectations, styles, philosophies and goals. The meeting is intended to accelerate relationship building for the manager and direct reports.
